BLUE MONDAY

It snowed here in NC over the weekend. My first Blue of the day will be this Beautiful Blue Sky I saw as I was traveling down this snowy country lane .

Next ,I have the Blue in this rainbow wind twister in my Rose Garden which has a Wizard of Oz Theme.

Finally, I have this Blue Snowflake Flag.

We have been enjoying our snow days .Here in my part of NC, we don't have them often.I would always rather have snow than ice . Ice can be a real problem , making roads infinitely more treacherous than snow & bringing now trees & power lines .

Today I am featuring some items that are on a small Cupboard in my Living Room .I purchased it from Home Decorators Outlet a few years ago.It has a few RED items .

First, the SNOW blocks , I see quite a few reds there .
Then , there is the red in the wealth on the head of this sweet Dreamsicle figurine .
Finally, There is the Red Apple on this teapot ,that was a gift from my son a few years ago.

This is a devotion from Joni Eareckson Tada 's Devotional book, Diamonds in the Dust.It is entitled:

Things Above

Since then , you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above , where Christ
is seated at the right hand of God,. Set your minds on things above, not on earthy things .
---Colossians 3:1-2

In this verse we are twice commanded .First, we are to set our hearts , then second set our minds on things above . In other words , Things above are to capture our imaginations, emotions, thoughts, feelings ,ideas,and on and on.
Most of us consider this command to be not necessary as other mandates in Scripture. But it is ! When you consider that the first and greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart and mind , it follows naturally that we should set our hearts on things above " where Christ is seated at the right hand of God."
C. H. Spurgeon once said , "Some of you ,right now ,could not be happy if you were allowed to enter Heaven. Shall I tell you why ?It is because heaven is a land of spirit and you have neglected your spirit."
It is the spiritual person who can readily set his heart and mind on Heaven.So,live in the Spirit, walk in the Spirit,abide by the Spirit,pray in the spirit,and you can't help but glean a real and deep longing for heavenly glories above.
What enriches your spirit?
Filling your heart and mind with whatever is true ,noble ,right,pure, lovely,admirable,or anything excellent or praiseworthy. what enriches your spirit? Accessing the means of grace through prayer, worship, the reading of God's word, and fellowship. what enriches your spirit? Trusting and obeying your lord.

She ends with this Prayer.
I want to be a truly spiritual person, Lord, so help me to keep in step with your spirit today. May my flesh diminish and my spirit increase as I set my heart and mind on things above.

Psalm 139 :14-16


I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

January is Sanctity of Life Month .Please pray for the Unborn . I believe we should defend the unborn in constructive ways .In the past ,I have written letters to the editor asking everyone to pray for the end of Abortion on demand in our country .I have displayed flags in my front yard that represent lives lost to abortion for awareness . I have handed out fliers to churches .I have mailed paper snowflakes to friends & family to remind them to pray for the unborn . This year my daughter & I are planning a baby shower to collect baby things to give to a crisis pregnancy center.These are just a few ideas of things to do .To fill out an online Thank-You card for Pregnancy Centers at Be a Voice for Life click HERE.

Today, I have the Frosty I bought this weekend , when I took my granddaughter to Build-A-Bear . He was on sale for $15. He has a red flower & a red nose . His rosy cheeks light-up.

The New Year, A New Thing !

Here is Matthew West's song The Motions. I don't want to go through the motions either . I want everything in my Life to be done as unto my Lord .This video tells the story of his vocal surgery in 2007, surgery that could have ended his singing career. His trial left him with a renewed desire to serve the Lord as never before .



I would also like to add this poem my 11-yr.old granddaughter Jasmine wrote over the Christmas Season as she was pondering the Birth of Christ.

Walking down the rainy street,muddy ,hurried tracks of feet.
So many people are hurrying away ,Not stopping to enjoy the day.
Our God made this day, our God made us this way,
In His image , a perfect image .
Then we sinned and he was an even closer friend .
And we hurry away, We don't even enjoy this wonderful day .
And he still loves us all the same , He loves us.
