Hello Monday

Hi Everyone ,
I am thankful for another Monday and  to  visit with you  today . Last  Friday  ,I took my oldest granddaughter to her monthly Home School  Book Club .  Below are two pics I made of the beautiful afternoon while we were driving down the highway and no I was not driving . lol

We made red rose rings from pipe cleaners as a craft . They were featured on the Martha Stewart Show. You can find the directions  on her site .

We stopped at Dairy Queen for Ice Cream .

I snapped this pic from the window, I liked the red umbrella against the green & red holly buses.

We stopped by the Good Will , I found this  cute vintage 60's Dream Pet . I think it is a Goat .

I found this cool Cup Cake Book .

Then I came across this very cute cup cake plate .

I always look for art at the Good Will. I found this original acrylic painting by Artist Sally Huss.

Trader Joes's had bunches of Daffodil's for 1.69 , two  bunches will fill an average vase.

Last week , I had my mind on snowmen . So, I made these snow people from beverage bottles , rice ,buttons &  socks .

I put a pic of a snowman my granddaughters made in this winter  Frame .

I will leave with you with  these words  from Romans 12:12 - Be Joyful in Hope , patient in affliction ,faithful in prayer .

Art Museum Trip and other Stuff

Hello Blogging Friends! I hope you had a pleasant weekend . Isn't that a wonderful word ,HOPE ! Emily Dickinson says , "Hope"  is the thing with feathers -That perches in the soul- And sings the tune without the words-And never stops-at all. "

Last week we went to NC Museum of Art to the exhibit" Rembrandt in America ".It included nearly 50 paintings(not all were his ). It was the greatest museum gathering of his paintings in America . I am glad I went to see it .Now I have witnessed what his unique genius in portrait  painting was .I had heard about it , now I have seen it .He made the faces stand out and come to life using the method of chiaroscuro. Chiaroscuro  employs the the use of light and shade to achieve an almost three dimensional effect.  The only down note is after looking at painting after painting devoid of color with only only dark shade and light  , you can get a bit bored , especially the younger crowd . But yet , it was all still wonderful and fascinating .

You know , I love to take pics, but none allowed at this exhibit . Here is the  late afternoon sunset I snapped as I left to go to the museum.

After  visiting the museum , I took these  pics of the courtyard fountains in the dark.

A yellow bouquet from a  grocery store stop.

Yesterday , I finally started my album for the Page a Month  Club Hosted by  Sue of" Sue Loves Cherries" and Host of  "Rednesday "
I decided on a toilet paper roll mini album; Something I had wanted to try for a while .  I love the idea of recycling . My graphics  are mostly  form the net, so if one of them is yours, tell me and I will acknowledge your work . I decided on a New Year's theme for January.

I also made this Winter Snow Fun tag.  It slides into the flattened TP Roll.

While I had my mind on snowmen , I printed out these vintage snowman postcards and made a winter banner.

My last pics are of my  Paperwhites , which on this third week since planting are blooming . The fragrance is delicious . It has been very enjoyable watching them grow .I love gardening and watching things grow . They are leggy , but the blooms are beautiful . I read that you can add one part alcohol to  one part water ratio  and stunt their growth . But I was afraid I might kill them. Has anyone ever tried
this ? What was your result ?

I will leave you will these wonderful words form Isaiah Ch 43 ,which are a comfort to me today .
" Do not remember the former things , nor the things of old . Behold, I will do a new thing , Now It shall spring forth;Shall you not know it ?I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert ."

Sanctity of Human Life Month

January is Sanctity of  Human Life Month

(This is youngest granddaughter Eliana , you can read about her here &here.)

"You formed my inward parts , you covered me in my mother's womb.I praise  you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made , your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place , when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw my unformed body. All my days were ordained for me in your book before one of them came to be." Psalm 139:13-16

All Babies are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God ,  no matter how large or small .  I pray for all babies' health and well being , born and unborn and I praise God for the blessing of all children , born and unborn .

Here is an excellent video that explain what it means to be Pro-Life.

We can all shine a little light in the darkness . Here are a few sites that offer ways to  advocate the Sanctity of Life : CareNet ,
40 days of Life , The Voice of the Martyrs,Compassion
Samaritans Purse. These are some that I personally support, I know there are many others . So whatever you do , now is a wonderful time to do something to add to the dignity of a Life somewhere .

Shopping Trip

Hello Blogger Friends ,
I hope  you had a pleasant weekend.I had an enjoyable one . I went shopping Saturday ,first we shopped by the GW in Wake Forest, NC . I bought this painting of  a Vermont countryside painted in July 1971 by someone named Tilly .I love the colors and my hubby pointed out that was the year we were married .I have never been to Vermont , have you or do you live there ? It looks very beautiful .

We stopped by the Dairy Queen , I relaxed , read the coffee news & drank a hot chocolate . It was cold here Saturday nite ,

I did my grocery shopping at Trader Joes's . They always have beautiful flowers that greet you when you walk in the doors .

They also have a sense of humor there .

They believe in recycling . This art from school children is made from TJ paper bags .

Back home on Sunday ,I observed the progress the paperwhites had made the week since I planted them.

These are the  red tulips I got at TJ's on Saturday . Very bright & cheerful .

I ended the day Sunday going out to eat with family for my sister's birthday . Can you tell where we went ?
Yes, it was Cracker Barrel .:D

I will leave you with these words from our Lord Jesus .

"I am the light of the world . whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life . "
John 8:12
