The Fourth Sunday of Advent -Peace

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem Judea ,during the time of Herod,Wise Men came from the east to Jerusalem and asked " Where is the one who has been born the King of Jews ?We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him ".
When King Herod heard this he was disturbed and, all Jerusalem with him . When he called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, He asked them where the the Christ was to be born . " In Bethlehem in Judea , they replied ....
When they heard the King they (the wise men )departed; and low the star ,which they saw in the east, went before them till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star they rejoiced with exceeding great joy .
And when they were come into the house , they saw the young child with Mary his mother , and fell down and worshiped him ;and when they had opened their treasures , they presented unto him gifts:gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 2:1-11

A king had been born , Angels and lowly shepherds were the only ones so far to acknowledge this momentous occurrence in human history . Now wise men come out of the east to worship him .He was King of the Jews , but the Jews mostly had ignored his birth . The only major attention he gets is from a jealous King Herod .The Wise men by some divine revelation knew him for who he was and came and brought gifts and worshiped him !
As we celebrate Christmas , we tend to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everything,  but, let's not forget to  worship him the greatest gift that was given, The Savior of all mankind!
This Fourth Sunday of Advent traditionally is focused on Peace .
On His first coming He brought peace to all through his reconciling work on the cross. To obtain this peace you must accept his free gift of Salvation . When He comes again, He will bring peace to the world , as he takes his rightful place as King of Kings and Lord of Lords .There will be no sustaining peace on this earth until that event occurs .

The Third Week Of Advent-JOY

Hello Blogging Friends ,
This is the third week of Advent ,In which the emphasis is on the Good News of Great JOY . Those shepherds some 2000 years ago were the first to hear , But it has been relayed countess times by Joyful Hearers around this earth.

" And there were shepherds living out in the fields near by, keeping watch over their flocks by night . An angel of the Lord appeared to them , and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified .But the angel said to them , " Do not be afraid . I bring you good news of great JOY ,that will be for all people .Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord . This will be a sign to you. You will find a baby wrapped in cloths lying in a manger. " Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying :
" Glory to God in the Highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests ."
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said one to another." Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened , which the Lord has told us about . " So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him ,they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds had said to them . But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.. The shepherds returned , glorifying and praising God for all the thing they had heard and seen ,which were just as they had been told.
Luke 2: 8-20

This news the angel said was to impart to the hearer great JOY ,so much so that all of heavenly host broke out into praise .At first , the shepherds' reaction was fear. But after receiving the good news and hurrying off to see the Child and Mary and Joseph, the scripture said they had two responses : telling others and praising God . I love the expression " Merry Christmas , but a better greeting for christians may be Hallelujah , Christ is Born ! It is clear that this time of celebrating his birth can be a time of Joy in our lives and telling others the reason for that Joy.May we, this third week of Advent, concentrate on spreading the JOY of the good news of the Birth of Christ!

Second Sunday of Advent -God's Love

Hello Blogger Friends ,

For the second Sunday of Advent I will focus on the Love that motivated God to give his son for our redemption .

For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, so that who ever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life . John 3:16

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of all the Roman world. ( This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria) And everyone went to his own town to register .
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David . he went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child . While they were there , the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped in cloths and placed him in a manger ,because there was no room for him in the inn. Luke 2 : 1-7

Sin which originated from Adam and Eve is the nature of all mankind . That sin has separated us from God . But God made a way for us back to himself , by sacrificing his son to pay our sin debt.
We can never say that we are not loved because there is no greater love than to lay your life down for another . Jesus freely did that by first condescending himself to be born in a manager , becoming a man and then dying on the cross in my place and your place. That is the greatest Love that has ever been demonstrated in all eternity!
Just think about all the bad things that happen in this world , some so horrible we dare not speak or even think about; But a sinless, blameless , spotless, Holy Jesus , looked squarely that those things ,He bore them and He died to make amends for them . Such love by human standards is incomprehensible .

This is a beautiful song by Mark Schultz ," When love was Born "

May we spent this week of Advent experiencing the Joy of that love and thanking and praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !

First Sunday of Advent , A Light has dawned

Welcome Blogger Friends,
Today is the first Sunday of Advent , beginning a time of Celebrating the Coming of Christ to this earth to become our Savior and King . Today we will focus on the prophecy of Isaiah 9: 2-6 ,(this was written 700 years before Jesus' Birth .)

" The people walking in darkness have seen a great light ; on those living in the the land of shadow of death a light has dawned ......
For unto us a child is born , to us a son is given and the government will be on His shoulders and He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God , Everlasting Father , Prince of Peace ."

These verses refer to the first Advent of Jesus coming as our Savior and the last verses are reference to His second Advent or coming as King of Israel .
That glorious light has been revealed to all, both Jew and Gentile alike.Jesus is the Light and the Hope of the World and anyone coming to Him will not perish but be given Everlasting Life ! Praise Jesus !

Third Day singing Manger Throne . How I do thank you Jesus that you have come !

I wish you a wonderful beginning to this season of Welcoming and Celebrating Christ anew into our Hearts and Homes !

Love & Blessings,
