Shopping Trip

Hello Blogger Friends ,
I hope  you had a pleasant weekend.I had an enjoyable one . I went shopping Saturday ,first we shopped by the GW in Wake Forest, NC . I bought this painting of  a Vermont countryside painted in July 1971 by someone named Tilly .I love the colors and my hubby pointed out that was the year we were married .I have never been to Vermont , have you or do you live there ? It looks very beautiful .

We stopped by the Dairy Queen , I relaxed , read the coffee news & drank a hot chocolate . It was cold here Saturday nite ,

I did my grocery shopping at Trader Joes's . They always have beautiful flowers that greet you when you walk in the doors .

They also have a sense of humor there .

They believe in recycling . This art from school children is made from TJ paper bags .

Back home on Sunday ,I observed the progress the paperwhites had made the week since I planted them.

These are the  red tulips I got at TJ's on Saturday . Very bright & cheerful .

I ended the day Sunday going out to eat with family for my sister's birthday . Can you tell where we went ?
Yes, it was Cracker Barrel .:D

I will leave you with these words from our Lord Jesus .

"I am the light of the world . whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life . "
John 8:12

  5. Looks like you had a wonderful weekend! I so wish we had a Trader Joe's. We have to drive over an hour to get to one and it just doesn't happen very often. Cracker Barrel and Dairy Queen though--I'm happy to have them close by when I need a good dose of comfort food!

  6. What a great week end you've had. Lots of things being done in so few days.
Your painting is beautiful, and you have been married for quite some time. Is it really you who are portrayed on the profile picture??

  8. I love how bright and cheerful the art is from the Daniels Middle School children. The paperwhite bulbs look cool. I've never heard of them. Love DQ and TJ's. Did you buy the painting? I've never been to Vermont either but I hear they have the most spectacular fall tree colours imaginable.

  11. I made a comment but before I could send it, it was gone. Either my old age or Google. I'd rather believe it's Google. :o) I like shopping at Trader Joes too. Love that they have all those beautiful flowers right inside the door. Very cheery. Your red tulips are gorgeous.

    Have a great week

  13. I lived for a short time in Holly Springs, NC, and have good friends who now live in Wake Forest. It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. I had lunch at Cracker Barrel today! I love your paperwhites. I wish I'd thought to buy some when Home Depot had all their bulbs 50% off. Next year ... have a great week.

  14. The paintings do remind me of Vermont. I lived in Montpelier as a child.

    BOY IN BRIGHT RED SHORTS

    Boy in bright red shorts,
    With a shirt of blue,
    Strolling on the Malecón —
    I wish I were you;

    Carefree and content,
    Nothing much to do,
Chillin’ in your bright red shorts
    And your shirt of blue.

    1. We drove through Vermont when I was 13 years old - good gosh, that's a long time ago! I remember it being very woodsy and pretty but I don't even recall where we were on our way to???

Lots of lovely photos - I adore your paper whites! I meant to get some planted in November and never got around to it.

      Happy Rednesday!
