Enjoying the Merry Season

Hello Friends,
I hope you are enjoying this Merry Season !  Everything we do is brighter and merrier in our ordinary lives because of this blessed time.

I am starting out with the last pages & tags of my Month of the Year
recycled cardboard  roll Album. This is the November page & Tag.

This is the December page & tag. I recycled some Christmas cards for these. I love to recycle for crafts.

I stopped at Dairy Queen on a recent shopping trip, I thought their decorated Northfolk Island Pine made a cool Christmas tree.I thought it was some sort of fern until Sally From Blue Monday commented. I have just read that they originate from the eastern coast of Australia and can grow to 200 ft. tall.

This  is some funny advertisement for smoothies at Dairy queen.

On the way to the Library we passed many beautifully decorated houses. I captured this one.

Merry tree in the Library.

Someone had made a few of these cupcake trees to decorate & display with craft books.

On to Target  for shopping,I love this cool gift bag!

Sweet  paper rose trees.

In Harris Teeter I found this beautiful  blue bouquet.

I love this delicious looking cupcake wreath.

On another day at North Hills Mall in Durham ,NC ,I found these colorful gifts at the wrapping station.

Then, we passed Santa's vacant throne , looked like he left his sack behind too!

Looks like the elves have been busy decorating while he's away.

Baking some cookies too!

Went into Macy's to leave Santa a note & raise the Believe Meter up.

Some Sunset pics taken from my front yard.

Although , I have I don'have but one pic I actually took. I want to tell you about going the The Duke Homestead and celebrating  an 1870 Christmas . They stay true to the times & only have candles & lanterns for lights. So with my small camera , the pics did not turn out.

First we stopped by the barn and as a country band played we were entertained by period dressed square dancers ,very fun to watch! Then on to the Homestead ,in the bedroom we were  read "The Night Before Christmas"by fire &candle light . In the the Front Parlor  we sang Christmas Carols with a Blue Grass Band.  In the dining room we watched them pop our popcorn over a fire in the fireplace. We were served Hot Apple cider as we exited out the kitchen door . In the back yard we enjoyed delicious sugar cookies around a Bonfire . You can learn more about the Duke Homestead Here.

I will leave you with this wonderful bible verse :

Jesus spoke to the people and said,"I am the light of the world , whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12

Here is am amazing video featuring Casting Crowns," While You were Sleeping ."
