Second Sunday of Advent -God's Love

Hello Blogger Friends ,

For the second Sunday of Advent I will focus on the Love that motivated God to give his son for our redemption .

For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, so that who ever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life . John 3:16

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of all the Roman world. ( This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria) And everyone went to his own town to register .
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David . he went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child . While they were there , the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped in cloths and placed him in a manger ,because there was no room for him in the inn. Luke 2 : 1-7

Sin which originated from Adam and Eve is the nature of all mankind . That sin has separated us from God . But God made a way for us back to himself , by sacrificing his son to pay our sin debt.
We can never say that we are not loved because there is no greater love than to lay your life down for another . Jesus freely did that by first condescending himself to be born in a manager , becoming a man and then dying on the cross in my place and your place. That is the greatest Love that has ever been demonstrated in all eternity!
Just think about all the bad things that happen in this world , some so horrible we dare not speak or even think about; But a sinless, blameless , spotless, Holy Jesus , looked squarely that those things ,He bore them and He died to make amends for them . Such love by human standards is incomprehensible .

This is a beautiful song by Mark Schultz ," When love was Born "

May we spent this week of Advent experiencing the Joy of that love and thanking and praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !

Love & Blessings,
~Myrna
