Old Salem Part 2


Hello Friends,
Happy Fall! Autumn is finally here! I love this time of year!I have part 2 of my trip to Old Salem, NC . 
I will start off with this lovely Fall Vignette in one of the kitchens we visited.



The ladies were frying pumpkin cakes or fritters.

  6. Once more; beautiful, interesting and educational. I've never heard about the Moravian Star before. Now I've seen it in straw, tin and crystal. Just amazing.
    I listened to the Christmas service, and even though it's a bit early for me, I got caught by the song, the candles and the way the congregation behaved in church.

  7. What a quaint and picturesque town. Fall is the best time to visit these citys because of all the beautiful colors of fall-orange, red and sometimes blue. Adore the brick sidewalks and the brown tea set.

  20. Myrna, Your pictures just keep getting better and better. What a wonderful piece of history. I like that Pumpkin Cake recipe! I love the old wording, because this is how I cook, and pass along my recipes! Hah! I would love to find out more about making fabric from flax, so cool!
