A Miracle

I would like to introduce you to my newest granddaughter , Eliana Elizabeth . Eliana was born on March 1, at only 24 weeks gestation & weighing 1lb.8oz. , She is a micro preemie miracle baby . For now she is living at Duke University Hospital Intensive Care Nursery . She is doing very well but she has to stay in the hospital for at least 3 months and she will be fighting for survival every day . Please PRAY for her , my daughter and her family and the Doctors and Nurses that are caring for her . I will keep you posted about her progress .

As I watched her for the first time as she lay in the incubator , I felt such wonder and awe at how beautiful ,perfect, wonderful and tiny she is . As Psalm 139 came to my mind I praised God for the miracle of her birth .

" For you created my inmost being ; You knit me together in my mother's womb.I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made , Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was formed in the secret place , when I was woven in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be ."

I am linking to Spiritual Sundays .

Love & Blessings,
~Myrna

  1. Dear Myrna,
Congratulations on the birth of your new granddaughter! How tiny; how precious she is! I will definitely keep Eliana in my prayers!

I have had folks praying for my little granddaughter too who is three months old today. She had been in the hospital with severe RSV but was released this week. Her lungs are clearer but she still has a way to go. She was also born pre-mature by three weeks. She is my only grandaughter.
How wonderful to be blessed a grandmother! Wishing you a delightful weekend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  14. What a tiny little bundle of joy. Some day she will look back - when she's trying to lose weight - and say you should have seen me when I was born. It will be a great topic of conversation for her. In the meantime, I'm adding my prayers for her.
    Prayers and blessings,
    Charlotte

  20. Each child is a miracle from God. Your precious Elaina is held in His hand--and I'm praying for not only her, but for her mommy and daddy who have to walk this long wait for her to come home and for your heart, too.

  28. What a blessed gift is a grandchild ... I pray that sweet little Eliana will be healthy and strong soon. My grandson, who is now 6 months old, was born early and with bi-lateral cleft palates and he struggled so hard to be able to eat. He came through it fine, had his first surgery to correct his lip and nose and then got RSV and had to be hospitalized again. But all is well again ... bless be the power of prayer!!!
